Medela's SoftCup Feeder is a specialty-feeding device for infants, designed for use when health care professionals recommend cup feeding. Among babies who have breastfeeding difficulties, cups have been shown to improve the chances for subsequent successful breastfeeding. The SoftFeeder allows the baby to be fed without developing nipple confusion or preference until the transition to breastfeeding can be made. Unlike a regular cup, the Medela SoftCup Feeder has a control valve and self-refilling reservoir, which help maintain a steady supply of just the right amount of breast milk at the lip of the cup. Made of soft, pliable pure silicone, the feeder is contoured to fit even the smallest mouth.
